Sommer Mendoza
M.A. Educational Administration
I began my teaching experience in 2005 and have taught kinder, 1st, 4th, and 3-5 ELD. Currently I hold the role of an Instructional Coach/TOSA for the Fontana Unified School District. I hold a B.A. in liberal studies and a Masters in Educational Administration.
I am married to my high school sweetheart and we are blessed to have twin teenagers. One whom has different abilities and is diagnosed with ADHD and Autism.
I started this business with my best friend because of not only my experiences as a teacher with my student's parents experiencing difficulties in IEPs but also because of the frustrations and roadblocks I encountered as a parent of a child in the IEP process.
I wanted parents to be empowered and to not feel alone in their fight for what is necessary for their child to access curriculum. To show others just how amazing and remarkable your kid is and can be as long as they have what they need to unlock and access that potential.
Melissa Jordan
M.A. Special Education
My educational career began in 2014 as a general education teacher. As a general education teacher, I taught 1st, 4th and 5th grade. Then, I an opportunity arose and I became a special education teacher. While earning my education specialist credential, I got my masters degree in special education. I spent five years being an RSP teacher at a Kindergarten through sixth grade elementary school. As well, I have experience in supporting special education programs at the district level.
Sommer and I have decided to go into this work because far too often we see families having to navigate this process where they frequently see roadblocks or feel unheard. We want to empower parents to be an active member of their child's IEP. I believe every child has the potential to learn and has many individual strengths when the IEP team collaborates to create an Individual Education Plan based on your child's strengths.
